There are a lot of sports in the world, all kind of sports. There are so many than they are classified in types. It could have many types, but it has main types, team sports, combat sports and the other sports.
The team sports are the most popular. Like the name of the type explains, it is sports where people play in teams. In Canada, by example, the most famous are football, baseball and ice hockey, but there are a lot of other team sports, like soccer, basketball or volley.
Another classic type is the combat sports. Asian countries are rich in combat sports. Usually, these sports set one person against another, but it is sports where people learn how defend themselves too.
Boxing or karate are examples to combat sports.
The last type is fuzzier. It is usually individual sports, but not always. Dance is not an individual sport by example. There are unusually sports here too, like capoeira, a Brazilian sport both dance and combat. There is tennis too, a sport usually played by two players, one against the other.
So, to conclude, it’s hard to put sports I groups because it have too much different sports and too much ways for the types. There are sports what can’t go in a type because they are specific. If all sports must go in a type, it could have a lot of different types, too much.
